Written to be read rather than skimmed: the records this business keeps on a building, why they exist, and what you can make us do with them.

What arrives from you

Nearly all of it comes out of a conversation about a building. In practice that means:

  • A contact name, and a number that actually gets answered.
  • The site address where the openings are.
  • What the doors are doing and how the building is used.
  • Any history you offer about previous work, previous contractors or the age of the building.

On buildings that go onto a recurring round, this grows over time into a per-opening record. That record includes photographs of openings and hardware, and it is kept because the value of it depends entirely on being able to compare a visit against the last one.

What the website collects on its own

Nothing on this site can be filled in. No form, no mailing list, no login.

Standard server logs exist as they do for any website, and third-party call tracking may be in use, which associates a phone call with the visit that preceded it. That association is used to work out which pages generate calls, and for nothing else.

What we do not do with it

  • It is not sold.
  • It is not shared with marketing companies or lead brokers.
  • It is not used to send you anything you did not ask for.

Records may be shared with a partner contractor where one is carrying out the work, and with a supplier where a part has to be ordered against your opening. That is the extent of it.

How long it is kept

Job and opening records are kept while a building is an active customer and for a period afterwards, because door history has a long useful life and a building that returns after two years benefits from what already exists. Enquiries that never became work are removed once they are plainly stale.

You can ask for your records to be removed at any point by calling. The one exception is anything we are required to retain for tax or insurance reasons, which stays for as long as that obligation runs and is used for nothing else.

Photographs of your building

Openings get photographed as part of the record. Those images are working documents. They are not published, not used in marketing and not shared outside the people doing the work, unless you have specifically agreed otherwise in writing.
