Hiring rarely, hiring carefully

Working Here

Openings here are rare, and the description below is deliberately unflattering.

Roles we hire

Service technician

Running rounds and service visits across pedestrian openings. Closers, hardware, alignment, hinges, seals and thresholds. The work is methodical rather than dramatic — the same pass on every opening, done consistently, written down properly. If what draws you to the trade is the call-out nobody else could crack, this will bore you inside a month.

Service coordinator

Holding the schedule and the per-opening records, prepping visits so technicians arrive knowing the building, and dealing with the administrative side customers bring — purchase orders, vendor portals, site access, landlord approvals. Requires somebody comfortable saying a date will slip before it slips.

Requirements

  • Eligibility to satisfy whatever North Carolina licensing and insurance the work requires, and a clean enough record to pass the background checks that schools, medical buildings and secure facilities routinely run.
  • A valid driver's licence and a genuinely acceptable driving record. Half this job is being in the right building at the right time.
  • The ability to write a finding in plain language. Records are the product here, and a technician who cannot describe what they found is only doing half the work.
  • Comfort with early mornings and occasional between-shift work. Retail and medical buildings cannot be serviced during their own trading hours.
  • Willingness to say a job is not ours. Handing work back is a stated value, and somebody who quietly does it anyway to look useful is a poor fit.

On experience

A commercial door background helps and is not the only route. The crew currently includes people who came from glazing, from locksmithing, and from building maintenance. What matters more is whether you are the kind of person who checks the frame before touching the hinge.

What does not transfer well is residential service habit. The pace, the documentation and the code obligations are different enough that experienced residential technicians often find the first few months frustrating.

How to apply

Call (984) 398-5248 and ask for Nadia. We would rather hear you describe a door problem you have actually solved than read a formatted resume about it. Bring a real example, including one where you got it wrong first.

Hiring follows the workload rather than a calendar, and adding people is also what breaks a tight round if it is done carelessly. With nothing currently open, details are kept on file and calls are returned when something changes.

Put the doors on a schedule

Openings are rare and hiring follows the workload. Ring it through and describe a door problem you have actually solved.
